The Cloisters, part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, lets museum goers experience the art of the Medieval (and Renaissance) periods firsthand. This slideshow looks at a forgotten aspect of this museum — the architectural details of the building, which was assembled in pieces from Europe in the 1930s. It’s more castle than traditional museum. In this photo essay, we take a closer look at some of these architectural treasures.
